Arif the Top Arranger in the Future

You must know the Kuburan band who sing "lupa-lupa ingat" song. it is a simple song with rich melody which easily attracts children and hearing. My son is one of their fan. Too bad he doesn't remember the lyric so he rearranges the original lyric with his new lyric, it is as follows:
nenek....
nenek nenek nenek
ne..ne..ne..ne..ne..ne..ne..nek.....(and soon with the same lyric)
I hardly can hide my laugh.

Arif the Top Guitarist in the Future

What a wonderful thing imagination is. By allowing your children imagine, it means you support their creativity development. Imagination itself is a creative cognitive process by combining experience and prior knowledge become a new thought or a new idea. Arif likes music and he already knows which guitar is. Sometimes when we watch tv and find somebody playing guitar or somebody singing he will spontanously stand up and pretend as if he holds a guitar and plays it. But today he has more surprised me, he imagine an old racket as a guitar and say:"mom ....i'm playing guitar". and dance at the same time.

Create Spongebob

Arif and Alya really love spongebob. They often aks me to turn on the tv to watch spongebob although the time is not come yet. Today we make spongebob from a sponge that bought from the market. Although it's not really like spongebob in the tv but at least it is a sponge, yellow and square. Arif and Alya laugh when i tell story by spongebob that we made. What wehavw made was an imitation of spongebob. I try to practice what Toni Buzan said that imitating is one of the brain work principles. I also imitate the voice of spongebob that make arif and alya become more excited. I hope arif and alya oneday become a designer, creator, inventor or something like that.

Ci Luk Ba

I am sure all mother in the world knows Ci luk Ba game though through various name. In fact this simple game does have meaning for your children who play it. It teaches your children that when something's gone, it can come back. How to play ci luk ba? It is very simple. You just need to cover your face with both of your hands and then uncover it. Do this again and again.

Playing Puzzle

Playing puzzle is also one of their favourites. But Alya seems to be more interested because everytime I put the puzzle on the floor she directly take a sit and begin to take the pictures out and put it back again. The puzzle contains numbers, pictures, and colors. Therefore, they can learn the three aspects at the same time. Playing puzzle also help children to sharpen their logic by combining separated pictures become a picture as a whole.

Make A Bridge

Teach your children about recycling things. Don't waste your money with toys that are operated limitedly. Those toys teach them nothing but about spending money because they will be accustomed to buy new toys every time they see a new one. You can buy one or some but avoid buying those toys in front of them. Instead of buying ask them to take a sit and make something from used things. For example make a bridge with milk boxes. As you can see in the picture Arif is playing a car on the bridge that we've made before. By doing this you teach your children about imagination and creativity.

Reading Newspaper

Introduce your children with many kinds of reading. I give Arif and Alya not only story books but also newspaper, magazine of various topics, pictures dictionary, and so on. For this time they only see the pictures contained in the reading material. This is one of many ways to make them love books. If they love books, reading will be their habit and of course it is good for their academic aspect later on. If i read a newspaper Arif will get closer to me and see the newspaper too. He ask me questions "What is this mom?", "What is the color?", "Where is the pilot? (if he sees a picture of a plane)", "Where is his friend?". And i hope there will be other questions for me.

Reading a Book

Arif and Alya really like this book. A book about car story. Arif is always excited about cars. Sometimes i read the story for them and they listen to me carefully with wondering face. While i tell the story Arif gives me so many questions about the car. Telling story is very good for your children. It allows your children to increase their vocabulary and gives them opportunity to develop their imagination. For the first time, give you children story book which contains many pictures since children like pictures. Latter on, when they're getting bigger pictures are no longer become their priority in reading a book. Bigger chidren will have their own imagination in their brain when they read books.

Play the Circles

Arif and Alya really love playing those colorful circles. They can get the pleasure and the aducation at the same time. The first, they can learn about colors. Second, they can learn about comparison such as small, medium, and big. And third, they can learn about taking turn (if your child play with one or more partners). Taking turn in playing game let children learn about respecting other people and about patience. At this time Alya plays the circles alone because Arif is busy enjoying car race in the computer game.
